Say What???
Today, did not start out very well so I have to tell you all...
Miss Mady woke up with some pretty puffy allergy related eyes so I said,"It looks like Im gonna have to give you some sudafed"...as she continues about her morning and me with mine. I get the dogs food bowl ready and cut the DOGS prednisone pill in half laying it right beside her food dish on the counter, I turn to get into the fridge to get the rest of her food and when I turn around Mady has her tounge out saying,"I ate it" I said, "You ate what?" Of course it then dawned on me she ate the dogs pill!
Shocked and not thinking in my right mind of course, I called the vet first(why you ask?, dont ask) all I can remember is him saying at one point that prednisone for us is different than it is for dogs and it can actually kill them so Im thinking okay what will theirs do to us! Amyways, he already thinks Im crazy and now he has this really crazy message on his cell phone. So, I call the clinic- noone, I then call 911 because by this time Mady is screaming & crying over and over..."IM GONNA DIE!" I DONT WANNA DIE! & I FEEL SHAKEY, WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME! LOL
After 911 transfered me to the Er that lady gave me poison control # and I mustve misunderstood her and the number I dialed said,"Are you lonely,do you need a friend"...OOPS! By now my child is dead! and I then call information and they gave me the right number where I got a very nice lady who could hear Mady being irrational in the background and kinda chuckled and said to calm her down and give her something to drink then she checked and said she would be okay that it takes a pretty big dosage to harm someone.
Later on after I got home in the afternoon a FBI Agent and the cops showed up at the house for reasons that had nothing to do with us but it scared the crap out of me and that was my not so uneventful day! :)

Pippi!!
Aleesha really wants to be Pippi Longstocking for Halloween and I seen this cute little get up... I think we are really coloring her hair red and putting wire in the braids to make it more fun and the mismatched clothes shouldnt be too hard but I forgot about boots...I guess I will have to borrow those from grandpa :)

Creamy Chicken Penne Pasta
I tried this new recipe tonight and this Mother of picky eaters had it on her blog and she said they loved it and cleaned their plates so I thought I would try it. I switched it up a tad trying to make it a little healthier by using whole wheat pasta, low sodium chix broth and low fat sour cream...the tricky part is hiding the onions & garlic from the kids and she tells you how to do this by blending it and they never knew it was great! My kids loved this and so did I. I will definitly be adding this to my list of regulars...Im sharing with all you moms out there.
~ Creamy Penne Pasta
2 1/2 c Penne pasta cooked ( I used whole wheat)
4T butter
1 garlic clove crushed
1/3 c onion
1/4t salt
4T flour
1 can chix broth or 2 cups
1/2 c s.cream
salt & pepper
2 chicken breasts( I used the already cooked)
red pepper flakes (optional, I didnt use)
grape tomatoes sliced for garnish
While penne is cooking, melt butter in med saucepan, Cook Garlic & onion with some sea salt( thats what I used),over med heat till onions are tender. Add flour cook 1-2 min stirring.
Stir in broth stirring freq until sauce simmers. Remove from heat.
If you have kids use this trick: Transfer the sauce to a blender and puree then transfer back to the skillet and add s.cream (I also added some fresh parm cheese) until melted. Add chicken and pasta that is already cooked and drained. If you dont have kids you can just add the s.cream without blending it.
Would also be good with spinach, mushrooms or broc.
