C-H-I-C-A-G-O!!!!!

Were planning a small weekend trip to Chicago in April to visit the American Girl Store since we wont be doing a vacation this year and we havent had a vacation in 3 yrs and since its only 6hrs away we can do it all in a weekend!

The 2 younger girls are very excited about visiting the store and eating at the Restaurant. From what Ive been reading they really treat you and your doll like gold! At the restaurant your doll even gets their own little chair,tea cup & saucer. How cute is that! Mady still has all of her money from Christmas so shes excited to spend it there and the other girls are doing chores around the house and getting a weekly allowance to have money to spend. Apparently the store even has a hospital in it in case your doll needs cared for, a doll hair salon & spa,a restaurant,a photo shoot & ear piercing available all for your doll! Crazy I know!

Also, were hoping to stay at the Embassy Suites Hotel which offers a special American Girl Package where you get a bed for your doll to take home,cookies & milk in your room, a photo shoot with your doll at th AG store,a free ag movie in your room & afternoon tea at the ag restaurant.

While in Chicago were thinking about going to the Shedd Aquarium. Its the worlds largest indoor aquarium and its supposed to be amazing!

Another place we are definitly seeing is the Glass Skydeck at the Willis Tower. Im not sure if Doug is gonna do it but I think me and the girls are going up. I mean when will you ever get to stand out on a glass ledge like that? Im doin it!!!

Ever stuffed a Pepper???

Well, not me!! I had one of these tasty little things at Buehlers the other day when they were doing some taste testing and it was actually yummy so I got the recipe and thought Id try it out tonight. Of course I knew the girls first reaction would be...EWWWW! And it was but thats okay I told them to try the insides and if they absolutley hated it then they could make a pb & j sandwhich.(thats my go-to food)

If nothing else they do look pretty!!!

New Band uniform

This is Kassandras Band uniform for the second part of the year. She had a Winter Concert the other night. Doesnt she look cute! lol

Today was a no school day for Wooster so of course Ive been baking. duh! Nothing like warm chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven on a wintery day like today.

Chalkboard Mania

Over the holiday break Doug painted a chalkboard area on a pretty big area of Kassandras wall(just like she wanted) and it turned out really cute!! She loves it! She wanted to do a magnetic paint first then the chalkboard paint ontop of it so it could also be magnetic but we decided to just add the magnetic strips to the side that we already had from Ikea and it looks really cute.

He also painted a small one for Mady behind the door in her bedroom and a medium sized one for Aleesha at the end of her bed. I will post pics later.

Gymnastics Meet and A choc poopy mess.

This is how I felt today...You see Mady decided to sit on my lap while eating a whole choc bar and about 1/2 hr later I look down and I have a ton of choc between my legs..yes, between my legs! Oh the joys of motherhood!! I looked like I had messed myself for sure!

Aleesha had a home meet today against Tusc and she did pretty well. She got her kip on the bars and her cartwheel on beam, well she landed her cartwheel then fell off but it still counts and she actually got her best score on beam 8.2. She placed a 3rd,4th,5th & 6th.

Diarrhea of a Wimpy Kid

Mady got 4 books of Diary of a Wimpy kid for Christmas (or Diarrhea of a wimpy kid as she makes it sound) and this kid just loves reading these books! She can read 1 whole book in a day! First thing this morning I come downstairs and what is she doing...reading.

Facebook Fast

SO, this week the church is fasting and in prayer for the upcoming year and since my body tends to not react real well to missing a meal I decided to fast from Facebook for 3 days which if anyone knows me knows its a real sacrifice so Ive been praying and reading my devotionals in place of facebooking. Its also given me more time to catch up on everyones blogs which has been nice.

Doug and I have been fighting this sinus junk thats been going around and luckily I found some amoxicillin in the cupboard so I started taking that and Im feeling better just wore out and tired. Of course I cleaned 2 houses on monday and I work every day this week. Doug finally went to the doc today, now if I can only get my sister to listen to me and get her butt to the doc! Shes so stubborn I swear!

Well, its wed night and that means alot of running for me so I better go and get dinner together.
